Uno
Welcome to Melee UNO! Race to be the first player to empty your hand and claim the prize pool.
Overview
Melee UNO is a competitive card game for 2 to 8 players. Each player starts with 7 cards and takes turns playing cards that match the current card on the table. The first player to play all their cards wins!
The Deck
A standard Melee UNO deck contains 108 cards (76 number cards, 24 action cards, and 8 wild cards):

How to Play
Starting the Game
Join a game by selecting a room and clicking 'join'
Once enough players have joined, the game begins
Each player receives 7 cards
One card is drawn to start the discard pile
Play proceeds clockwise from the first player
On Your Turn
You have 30 seconds to take action. You must do one of the following:
Option 1: Play a Card
Play a card from your hand that matches the top card by:
Color: Match the current color
Number: Match the number (if both are number cards)
Action: Match the action type (Skip on Skip, Reverse on Reverse, etc.)
Wild: Wild cards can be played on anything
Option 2: Draw a Card
If you cannot (or choose not to) play a card:
Draw 1 card from the deck
You may then play the drawn card if it's valid
Or pass your turn to the next player
Note: You only draw once per turn. After drawing, you must either play the drawn card or pass.
Special Cards
Skip ⊘
The next player loses their turn and play continues to the following player.
Reverse ↺
Reverses the direction of play:
If play was going clockwise, it now goes counter-clockwise
If play was going counter-clockwise, it now goes clockwise
2-Player Rule: In a 2-player game, Reverse acts like a Skip card (your opponent loses their turn).
Draw Two (+2)
The next player must:
Draw 2 cards from the deck
Lose their turn
Wild
Can be played on any card
When you play a Wild, you choose the new color
The next player must match your chosen color (or play another Wild)
Wild Draw Four (+4)
The most powerful card in the game:
Can be played on any card
You choose the new color
The next player must draw 4 cards AND lose their turn
Draw Stack
When someone plays a +2 or +4 against you, you must draw the full amount of cards and your turn ends. There is no way to avoid these penalties. You may hold a maximum of 20 cards in your hand. After this, new card draws are exempt.
Winning the Game
Victory Condition
The first player to play all their cards wins the game and claims the prize pool!
Prize Distribution
The winner receives the total entry fees from all players
A small house fee is deducted from the total prize
Turn Timer
Each player has 30 seconds to complete their turn. If you run out of time:
If you haven't acted yet: You automatically draw 1 card and your turn ends
If you drew but haven't played/passed: You automatically pass
If you requested to play a card but didn't confirm: Your turn ends without playing
Tip: Don't wait too long! Keep the game moving.
Forfeiting
If you need to leave a game early, you may forfeit. In the event of a forfeit, you are removed from the game, your cards are discarded, play continues without you, and you lose your entry fee.
